We are excited to invite to you the AVA Spring Meeting 2025, which will be hosted at the iconic Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria!

Vienna, the Austrian capital, is a city rich in cultural heritage. Known for its stunning baroque architecture, classical music legacy, and vibrant arts scene, Vienna is the perfect setting for this year’s congress. From strolling along the Ringstraße to visiting world-renowned museums, historic cafes, and the famous Vienna State Opera, the city offers endless opportunities for exploration and enjoyment.

Our venue, Schönbrunn Palace, is one of Vienna’s most treasured landmarks. This former summer residence of the Habsburg emperors is a UNESCO World Heritage site and a masterpiece of baroque design. With Tiergarten Schönbrunn in close proximity, the first day will center on wildlife immobilisation, with sessions addressing the unique challenges of safely and effectively anaesthetizing animals in diverse and often unpredictable field conditions. The second day’s focus on education in veterinary anaesthesia will explore innovative teaching methods, modern curricula, and ways to enhance student engagement, reflecting AVA’s commitment to fostering expertise across generations. Cooperating the with Messerli Research Institute of the Vetmeduni Vienna the final day will turn to ethics and animal welfare, engaging participants in discussions about the humane practices, ethical considerations, and evolving policies that define compassionate care in veterinary anaesthesia today.

In the evenings, Vienna’s vibrant nightlife and dining scenes await. Enjoy a traditional meal at a historic Viennese tavern or discover local wines at one of the city’s wine bars. Stroll through the Naschmarkt for unique bites, or unwind at Prater Park, where you can ride the famous Riesenrad Ferris wheel for a stunning view of Vienna by night.
